To Begin With…

View of the entrance to the back Garden

I’ve been Gardening since I was a small child and now in my 60’s I finally have a small Botanical Garden around my home. I hope to share some of what it’s been like creating and living with it in these pages. I’ll do my best to post pictures of what it looks like and to explain why things are the way they are. I’ve recently labeled my whole collection with garden markers denoting the names and origins of each plant. It’s been quite exciting to do this and has given me the impetus to try to share this with a larger audience thru these pages. I hope you enjoy what you see and read and that you’ll share your feedback, and your own gardens, with me as you can.

Thanks for visiting and I’ll try to keep in touch.

Steve

  3. What a wonderful hobby to enjoy. I don’t garden. I really don’t plant a thing. There is not a plant in my home. A few bushes around…but that’s all. I have a friend who loves getting her hands dirty. She calls it therapy. I have never felt the need for dirty fingernails. lol
But I will enjoy watching you. šŸ™‚

  4. A charming garden. I’ll be interested in hearing about its contents. We have a very small vegetable and fruit garden in the back and a native plant one in front. Both give s so much pleasure.

    • Oh this is so ironic. The last thing I feel right now is inner peace. This is a joke right? No, I know it’s not, and i appreciate your kindness in offering me this award. It’s very sweet of you and I’m grateful. Just a bit overwhelmed right now… And so it goes… šŸ˜‰
      Thanks again,
      Steve

It’s not a joke Steven. The last thing I feel is inner peace also. But, to me, the point of the award it that although we feel that chaos within, we continue forward, knowing it may always be as so but still taking the time to ground ourselves in that dirt, appreciating Mother Earth and everything upon it–your gardening, your trips…sharing it with people like me and others who appreciate it because it helps bring such inner peace, if but for a moment…that’s all that’s necessary sometimes. Love ya’….and at your leisure. XXOO šŸ™‚

        • You’re so right of course. I know that it’s keeping on when you’re not doing well that is a true measure of inner peace. I have that I know, I’m just a bit fried right now and I write what I feel, usually… I am grateful for this look at myself from your perspective and will do my best to take it in and make it real for me. Sometimes I just get too hung up in my own problems ya know? šŸ˜‰
Thanks for your words of wisdom…

    • Thank you so much for this award. As you can tell I haven’t gotten to the others yet, tho I’ve put the badges on my site as a start. I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by them all and may do a single post for them all in one, except for this one that doesn’t allow it. I can’t refuse such kind generosity but I may do them my own way, as usual… We’ll see…

I’m very honored that I’ve had a positive affect on your desire to garden. That’s a lot of why I do this stuff ya know – to turn people on to the joys of it all. I hope it’s a good thing for you… I think it will be. Just have fun and don’t stress about it…!

      Thanks again! šŸ™‚
      Hugs,
      Steve

  13. Dear Steve,

Hello! Thank you for commenting at the post entitled ā€œšŸ’Ø Strong Wind Knows Tough Grass šŸŒ¾ ē–¾é¢ØēŸ„å‹č‰ā€, on which you are very welcome to make further comments. As you can see, this politician, statesman and chancellor had been fired six times and rehired six times, and still he persisted in his upright approach and upstanding ideal. He even surrendered and dedicated his own lands, real estates and military power! If only many more people in the financial, business and political spheres can learn from the upright character featured in the said post. This historical figure is the personification of enduring loyalty, integrity, bravery and forthrightness achieved with benevolence and righteousness, but without favouritism and transgression.

I am glad to be acquainted with you here, and to be impressed by your Greenwood garden.

I like many of your cool-climate plants. Unfortunately, my climate is too warm to grow them.

Speaking of botany and gardening, I have been a keen gardener, and would like to inform you of my four horticulture websites containing a great deal of information available to you as follows. Simply append the usual dot wordpress dot com to the end of the following words to visit the corresponding website.

    queenslandorchid
    queenslandbegonia
    pottedplantsociety
    rhsq

Please enjoy the websites to your heart’s content! My main website named soundeagle also has half a dozen posts concerning plants, gardening and horticultural matters.

Happy New Year to you! May you find 2021 very much to your liking and highly conducive to your gardening, planting, learning, writing, thinking and blogging!
